Our Team
Rona Lee Gura
Rona Gura received her Juris Doctorate from Fordham University in 1986, and was admitted to the bar in 1987. She started her legal career in the litigation department of a large firm, and advanced to a position whereby she handled almost all of the firm’s appellate work, having written copious briefs and motions in the Appellate Division and the Court of Appeals, and having argued before the Appellate Division numerous times, both as an Appellant and a Respondent.
After having gone through her own divorce, and post judgement custody matter, Rona changed her career path to focus exclusively on family law. As a matrimonial attorney who has been through the process personally, Rona brings a uniquely empathetic ear to her clients’ concerns. She has the distinctive ability to appreciate the often emotionally wrenching experiences of her clients, to be an effective advocate for her clients’ needs, and to successfully guide them through the legal process.
As a skilled and highly experienced litigator, she has appeared regularly in the Family Courts and Supreme Courts on behalf of her clients. Rona is a certified family law mediator and an experienced collaborative negotiator. Rona is admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
